Loooong travel day.

The first day of our South Pacific adventure was a looong day of travel, including 4 separate flights. The first leg from San Jose Costa Rica to Miami included a 2-hour layover at Miami International. Then we flew on to LAX for a 10-hour layover waiting for our Air Tahiti Nui flight to Papeete.

Our layover in Los Angeles was made bearable in part by the new Bradfield International Terminal. This building is incredibly beautiful and filled with high-tech light shows that made the time pass more quickly.

The elevator tower was truly amazing!

At the gate waiting to board the flight to Tahiti. This A340 Airbus will be our lodging for the night on an 8-hour flight over the Pacific.

Morning in Tahiti! Deplaning at the airport in Papeete.

Waiting for our fourth and final flight to our destination Bora Bora. For breakfast, a Coke Zero and a pain chocolat! After all, it is French Polynesia...

Fourth leg and final flight to Boar Bora aboard Air Tahiti via a trusty ATR twin prop plane. Bora Bora lies 240 km northwest of Papeete, a 45-minute flight.

This is Bora Bora from the air. I didn't take this shot, but it show the spectacular beauty of our first stop in the South Pacific.

Aerial view of Hilton Bora Bora Nui Resort on one of the motus (small islands) surrounding Bora Bora in the upper right corner of this shot.

The airport in Bora Bora is also on a motu north of the main island. This is a morning shot from the airport across the lagoon to Bora Bora shrouded in low-flying clouds. We made it!

Tim aboard the Hilton resort launch. A quick 20-minute around the lagoon to Hilton Bora Bora Nui Resort.

"Jet lag? What jet lag? Get me a mai-tai!"
